About

The Spade Husbandry Allotment Society is an association of all the tenants (plotholders) at the Spade Husbandry allotment site, Forest Road, E17. It is a formally constituted and democratic organisation that represents the tenants (plotholders) at the site and works in partnership with the Walthamstow and Chingford Almshouse Charity, the owners of the site. All plotholders are encouraged to be active members!

The society has a committee made up of volunteers who are elected at the Annual General Meeting. The committee does various things including meeting new members, setting up work parties, running the trading hut, ordering seeds and organizing social events. Plotholders are welcome to come to committee meetings and input and to become committee members.

Plotholders pay a annual subscription to become a member of the Society. Subscriptions covers costs such as water to the site, insurance and membership of the National Allotment Society.

Current subscriptions are £20 for a full plot, £10 for a half plot, £5 for associate members.
